You found the listing. A 20,000mAh power bank, clean photos, decent reviews, and the supplier wants $22.00. You click Contact Supplier, wait a day, and a second factory offers what looks like the same Baseus model at $6.50. Both sellers are on Alibaba. Both swear theirs is genuine. So which number do you build your business case around, and why does the Baseus power bank price in China swing more than 200% for one product?
We’ve sourced power banks out of Shenzhen for years, and honestly, that gap fooled us too at the start. It isn’t random. Once you know what drives it, you can tell real quotes from bait.
Why One Model Gets Priced at $6.50 and $22.00
Four things create the spread. Usually more than one applies at once.
- Battery cells. Cheap units use generic 18650 cells. Better ones use polymer packs, which add roughly $1.50 to $3.00 per unit but run slimmer and rarely swell.
- Real versus “compatible”. Many of those $6.50 listings aren’t Baseus at all. They’re no-name factories using the Baseus name in titles and photos to catch search traffic. More on this below, because it matters a lot.
- MOQ math. The rate at 100 pieces can run 30-40
